Eun Seong-min — Buncheong Dumbeong Moon Jar

A buncheong moon jar by ceramicist Eun Seong-min. The vessel is finished in the dumbeong technique — dipped whole into white slip — so that iron specks from the clay body surface through the milky white skin.
Gentle shoulders, a low foot, a body without exaggeration. The work carries Joseon buncheong’s dumbeong tradition into a contemporary form, with a warmth distinct from white porcelain moon jars.
Eun Seong-min has exhibited together with GOBOKII. Placed among old things, the jar settles in quietly, without a trace of dissonance.
