Gyeryongsan Buncheong Bowl with Iron-Painted Grass

An early Joseon buncheong bowl fired at the Gyeryongsan kilns. Over a white slip ground, the potter brushed a single grass plant in iron pigment — you can still feel the speed of that brush, five hundred years on.
The body, pressed slightly out of round in the kiln, was left just as it came. This particular freedom of Gyeryongsan buncheong cannot be imitated.
